I can’t even begin to air out my frustrations from yesterday’s loss against(sigh)… the Golden Gophers of Minnesota. Maybe we have been spoiled as Badger fans since Bo’s arrival in Madison, but two losses with late leads at the Kohl Center is unacceptable. Now I hate to place all of the Badgers problems on one or two guys, but this team is missing that certain leadership and swagger that the 07-08’ Badgers had (i.e. Brian Butch and Michael Flowers.) Neither of our seniors- Marcus Landry and Joe Krabbenhoft, has become the go-to-guy that we had all hoped for and expected this year. It’s just been a trend that we as Badger fans have come to expect over the years…
2003-2004- Kirk Penney graduates; Devin Harris leads the Badgers to an outright Big Ten Title.
2004-2005- Devin Harris declares for the NBA Draft; Mike Wilkinson leads the Badgers to the Elite 8.
2005-2007- Mike Wilkinson graduates; Alando Tucker and Kammron Taylor lead the Badgers to the programs first #1 ranking in school history.
2007-2008- Alando Tucker and Kammron Taylor graduate; Brian Butch and Michael Flowers lead us to a Big 10 Title.
What Marcus Landry and Joe Krabbenhoft leave behind as seniors is yet to be determined. However, I Bo-lieve and you should too! As Badger fans, we all know that this team has way too much talent not to finish in the upper-tier of the Big 10. Yes, we have some problems to address, but it’s nothing that Bo Ryan can’t turn around. Nothing is out of the picture with a great coach like Bo Ryan at the helm. He will certainly address his team’s inability to close out games, break the press, and protection of the ball. Bo knows best…
Bo-lieve!
