Penn State vs. #10 Michigan State

The Penn State faithful, known for their longstanding football tradition would’ve made Joe Pa proud to be a Nittany Lion fan tonight. It was an odd occurrence… Penn State actually had fans at a basketball game. Unlike the other week when the Penn State student section had a grand total of three students in attendance at their win over than #14 Purdue, the faithful brought the white-out to the Bryce Jordan Center. Michigan State led much of the game by 15+ points when Penn State got hot with just under 10 minutes left. When Penn State brought it within one point with under a minute left, the entire student section erupted. It reminded me of Rick Vaughn coming out in the 9th inning to close out the New York Yankees in Major League. They would come up short in the end losing 78-73, but it was nice to see a Big 10 school with so much pride come out of hibernation during the winter. Penn State’s Big Three- Jamelle Cornley, Talor Battle, and Skip Pringle combined for 54 of Penn State’s 73 points in an honest effort against the Big 10 favorite Michigan State Spartans.
